Due to ACIC compliance updates, the ACIC police partners have advised that since the introduction of the NDIS legislation the Healthcare Vulnerability indicator is no longer compliant for police vetting or used by them to determine what information will be released onto a check.

The purpose / proposed place of work and/or issuing authority and state provided on a check, will determine what information can be released by police in accordance with the coinciding state or territory spent conviction legislation and/or information release policies.

Please ensure you do not use 'generic' terms for the purpose, e.g. 'Contractor'.

Your check will no longer specify healthcare vulnerable on the result, this is because it is no longer accurate for checking purposes and does not affect the information disclosure decisions made by our police partners during the vetting process. If your check purpose and industry has a requirement under legislative police release policy they will be vetted in exactly the same way.

The Nationally Co-ordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for Employment or Volunteering is no longer required to contain "healthcare/vulnerable" in the purpose field. The purpose description must be specific to the role required.  For example:  Aged Care Support worker OR Gardener working in Aged Care.
