Do you need to verify Australian documents, using at-source government databases? National Crime Check is an accredited gateway into the DVS (Document Verification System) allowing for at-source verification of government-issued documents.
Documents which can be verified using the DVS include:
- Drivers Licence
- Passport
- Medicare Card
- Centrelink Card
- Visa
- ImmiCard
- Birth Certificate
- Marriage & Name Change Certificates
- Citizenship Certificate
- Registration of Descent Certificate
These checks can be run either using our APIs for full and seamless integration, or using our data-entry forms directly from within your dashboard. These verifications are "data only" and do not require image uploads or interaction with the candidate.

Considering the risks involved, then yes, the benefits almost always outweigh the investment. Document verification checks also require minimal time to do, and you can get your dashboard and workflows set up very quickly to start mitigating risks.

Most verifications are returned within three seconds and we offer a Service Level Agreement to return results within 20 seconds.

Who is National Crime Check?
NCC is an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) accredited agency as well as a Document Validation Service (DVS) Gateway Service Provider (GSP) so you can have full confidence in obtaining fast, identity and document verification checks.

What is required for signup?
We are required by law to conduct due diligance for all signups to ensure that the Australian Privacy Principals are being reached. Your integration must also sufficiently request consent from your candidates. Signup is a quick and easy process, with most organisations able to use the service within 2 to 3 business days.
We also provide extensive documentation and a testing data with many test cases available; this can allow for very rapid development of your API integrations.
Can you also collect the images for me?
We can also offer the full candidate experience, InstaID Plus, which manages candidate interaction, document upload, image analysis, and document verification services.
